Week 52 – Robin

CrazyCows

Some cows…again. I liked the emotion and action. The one on top of the hill makes me smile with the bird on his head. ūüôā

I used my Samsung NX300, 45mm lens, 1250s, f/5.6, ISO 200. Large crop. They were far away and I had no zoom.

As always, I had great fun this year with the NWG’s!! ūüėÄ

Week 52 – Judy

Week 52

This is an old Kodak Brownie. My brother-in-law flips houses and he found this old camera in one of the houses. I thought it would be appropriate to take a photo of an old camera to commemorate the last week of this year’s NWG blog. It’s been¬†another fun year!

My settings were ISO 200, f/7.1, 1/13 second at 55mm (55-135mm). I applied PSE’s watercolor and poster¬†filters, added a colored texture fill layer¬†for¬†the background and rounded the corners.

Week 51

Was walking around the yard and saw several large mushrooms. This is the top of one of them. Never really noticed the interesting patterns on these mushrooms before. Looks like a graboid’s mouth from the movie “Tremors.”

My settings were ISO 200, 1/40 sec, f/7.1 at 300mm (70-300mm).  I applied a fill layer to make the background all black using PS Elements. Then applied Topaz Adjust Simple Pop filter and saturated the colors a little.

Week 51 – Robin

Grant_building

Ray and I went to Fisherman’s Landing in Grant-Valkaria to try a little fishing. We didn’t catch anything but had a nice afternoon talking with locals and walking around this beautiful park on the river. I didn’t have a camera with me so I used my Nexus 5 for this shot.

I cloned out some ugly modern power units and used ON1 Effects 10, Photomorphis Colorific Texturizer to give it a dreamy, vintage feel.

Case Moth Cocoon

Case Moth Cocoon

Would love to see the moth that eventually comes out of this cocoon. You see what it will possibly look like here CaseMoth

Walked around the yard on a cloudy, drizzly day.  Love doing that.  Never know what you will find.  I did come across a number assassin bugs.  Those are creepy insects but decided to post this cocoon instead.

Shot with my NikonD300s with 105mm lens, ISO800, f3.2, 1/200sec.  Used Topaz Detail to bring out the detail in the cocoon and Topaz DeNoise to take out the nose in the background.

Liken some Lichen

Liken some Lichen

Yes we had a NWG outing.  So enjoy getting together with these two talented women.  I received a new camera for Christmas (Olympus TG-4) so the outing was a perfect time to play with it.  Robin showed me how to use the microscope setting.  As you can see I was having fun getting up close and personal.  Boosted the colors using Topaz Adjust Spicify.  The internal stacking within the camera helped sharpen the image.  My settings were 1/60sec, f3.2 ISO800, and focal length 5.5mm.
